Industrial Energy Independence for Electronics Manufacturer, Mecalc.
Mecalc, a leader in modular data-acquisition (DAQ) and control systems, powers innovation across the automotive, aerospace, defence, acoustics, and industrial machinery sectors. Because they operate without an Eskom power supply, the facility previously relied entirely on diesel generators to maintain continuous operation. This dependence resulted in high monthly costs, constant noise, and harmful fumes, creating an environment that was both expensive and uncomfortable for their specialised engineering operations.

Project Highlights
- 580 x 650W Aiko all-black contact panels
- 10 x 30kW Sigenergy hybrid inverters
- 50 x 9kWh Sigenergy batteries
- 2 x 180kW Sigenergy Gateways

The project was made possible through the support of Recharge as funders, utilizing top-tier products from Sigenergy and Aiko, sourced via Herholdt’s Group.
By successfully replacing the constant reliance on diesel generators with this high-performance hybrid system, we have transformed Mecalc’s operational environment. The facility now enjoys:
- Monthly cost savings on fuel and operational expenses.
- A cleaner, quieter, and more professional working environment free from generator fumes and noise.
- Reliable, continuous power suited to the precision-demanding nature of their work.
